''but at the same time, if this is what's best for the team, I'm all for it. If it betters our team situation, I've got to deal with it.''
He doesn't like it though.

And i don't think that it makes Grizzlies better.

Wow. You know the world's fucked up when the OJ Mayo for Kevin Love trade on draft day a couple years ago makes David Kahn look like he knows what he's doing.

Outcomes:

Grizzlies get to see what Henry brings to the table in a full-time role

Xavier gives the Grizzlies a more capable defender and rebounder (though not necessarily a better one)

OJ now has incentive to work harder on defense

Mayo's contract extension value decreases going into the final year of his contract next season

OJ's trade value does not increase as it might if he continued to play poorly in a starting role

It's a win for the Grizzlies in every way, and for Heny, but of course OJ wouldn't be happy.

"Mayo should just keep his mouth shut and play basketball. He gets payed for playing not whining.Just because he came from that 2nd rate college basketball program,USC,does"nt make him a superstar.Shut up and be a team player, not like La Queen Jane of the HEAT."

I agree.

I dunno about that. He just got benched for a rookie who's shooting a worse than he is so far. Henry hasn't done anything so far to earn the starting job yet Memphis just gave it to him. OJ can't understand that considering what he's done for that team the past two seasons. He sees a smaller payday and a lot less minutes coming his way if this move continues to work out for the Grizzlies (they're 2-0 so far, even if Henry's stat line has looked bad). As he sees it, he's a better player than that. He wants a chance to prove himself, and it makes sense. The fact that he said he's willing to deal with it even if he doesn't want to, shows at least some maturity. If he gets used to it and likes it (becoming a great 6th man), this could all change. Anybody would be unhappy with this change. Henry is in no way a better player than Mayo. Mayo has the ability to be a starter in the NBA, and even if he was going to be a sixth man, I don't think he'd want to do it for a team that's .500, playing behind a player he thinks is not as good as him.

Honestly, Mayo would have been out of Memphis no matter what happened.

Last year, they drafted Sam young, a SG, in the second round. He isn't too bad. Not great, but decent. In 2010's draft, they drafted 2 more SG's, Henry and Vasquez. They also brought in Tony Allen, another SG.

The Grizzlies already locked up their leading scorer for a few years and lots of money, and they could lock up their second leading scorer, Randolph. They also gave conley an extension that's worth like 8 million a year I think. I'm pretty sure Marc Gasol is gonna see an extension soon. So where is the money for Mayo? I don't think the grizzlies really wanted him long term.

I don't know why I don't like O.J. Mayo's game.

But I like Henry even less...

Then this part...

Quote :
Henry, a rookie from Kansas, is averaging 5.3 points. He was 1 of 9 from the field and scored six points in 26 minutes against the Heat.

''It was just out of nowhere,'' Henry said. ''At first I was (surprised), then I just eased into it.''

Easing into a 1 of 9 shooting night?

Then Henry follows that game by getting 4 fouls in 12 minutes versus Detroit.

Yuck.

You know who I like? Greveis Vasquez. He's a passionate dude on the floor. Why not start him @ the 2? He has a PG's mentality in a SG's body could help out Conley. Then what they should include in any trade with OJ is making the other team throw in a backup PG to whomever they throw Memphis' way for OJ. Cause Acie Law as a backup don't cut it...
