First topic message reminder :

This is probably the third straight year of A.I. trade talks.

IS this the year they go through with it?

The Cavs, Knicks and Rockets are are the front runners as Philly is ready to blow up the 76ers altogether and send it's 7 year vet packing... From recent quotes by Iggy, I'm pretty sure he's not against.

Oh may bad. But your still wrong on shooting over him. He isn't a shot blocker or shot changer.

He is pretty good on the P&R tho.
he's 6"8 and he's freakishly long arms...so i took a guess

Yeah that helps with the passing lanes and P&R.

But having A.I. would only improve Aminu, who they'll have for three more years if the Clippers extend his rookie contract.

Personally I'd move Gordon to the PG spot... Vinnie has prior experience with an attacking scoring PG with Rose. Put Iggy at the two... Keep Aminu at the SF.. you got Blake at the PF and Jordan at center.

The bench gets better with Bledsoe and Butler and you can move A.I. to between SG and SF and Gordon from PG to SG.

Oh and Baron Davis... Hmmm... Take the season off. He's already taken two season off anyways.

OMFG! no they dont...you have a top 5 ROY SF in aminu. he's the fuckin 8th pick...y draft him if you dont want him? taking iggy instead of aminu would be justdumb

That's actually a good point... Aminu has been pretty damn good recently... minus his last game versus the Suns.

Aminu has been starting the last 3 games they've been 2 and 1... that's not that big of a deal, but these are the Clippers. anything over .500 is good.

Also Aminu isn't that good of a defender VISA. He's alright.

I like Aminu's game.He's great

He just reminds me of a important part of a championship team. like a Trevor Ariza. He'd look good in New York especially if they can cop a PG soon.

please keep him away from NY we don't need him. We are beyond fine with SF's. Only one that's worth a looksie is Melo. What we need is a legit C and a vet presence @ the PG spot. Pass on Iggy...

Tony what do you think about these CP3/Melo/Stat speculations? I think that if the Knicks don't give up much and bring in like two vets, that's the NBA's best team.

all those players are pretty solid defensively. especially Chris Paul. I'd agree though.

But that's the thing. If NY were too acquire CP3 AND Melo, they'd have to give up at the very least Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Toney Douglas, Bill Walker, and probably Eddy Curry for salary reasons. Don't give me that two vets thing - remember when the Heat signed Eddie House, Mike Miller, and Zydrunas Ilguaskas? That's the "veteran presence" the Heat were looking for. And what happened to the Heat? Their experiment hasn't worked out very well yet, for a couple of reasons.

1. You need a competent, experienced coach. D'Antoni is a nice coach but he's never going to take a team to a championship if his teams continually give up 100+ PPG.

2. Veteran presence is needed on teams fighting for the playoffs or in need of a leader (i.e. Nuggets with Billups, KG/Ray with Boston). But when you have a super trio like Amare/CP3/Melo or LeBron/Bosh/Wade a veteran leader is not the biggest need on the team because to be honest, when either of these trios are on top of their game, no one is stopping them. No one. Sure it's nice to have a veteran coming off the bench and getting around 10 PPG and being a vocal leader, but if either of these trios were to win, it would be because of their star play and not some washed-up vet on the bench. Look, I am aware that the Heat are in dire need of wins at this point, but we all know that most of their losses have come from the fact that LeBron and Wade have not learned how to play together yet. Yeah, their bench could play better, but it's ridiculous to blame the bench for a loss, unless it's like they blew a 20-point lead while the Big 3 were on the bench in the 4th quarter. But lemme tell you. At some point in the next couple of years when they finally get it together, the Heat will be pretty damn close to unstoppable. Same goes for the Knicks Big 3. Unfortunately, I just don't see the Knicks Big 3 actually coming together because there's just too many pieces they would have to trade to acquire either of these guys, and with the surprising emergence of the Hornets this season, I would be SHOCKED and I mean SHOCKED if they shipped Paul away at this point for a package headlined by say Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari.

But, weirder things have happened.
