Not really a tough subject to talk about... the dude has some points, but the problem is that he is referencing it like all black people believe that we want an apology.

The black side of my family consist of lawyers, politicians, doctors, police officers, teachers and so forth... My Grandfather had the first black owned dentistry in Shreveport, Louisiana... he took so much business away from the white dentist that the KKK made a visit and lit a crucifix on his lawn and fire bombed his house with my mom and her siblings in the house crammed into the basement with my oldest uncle protecting them with a pistol. He gave my grandma a rifle and he took a shotgun and they fought off the KKK.

So when this guy is arguing against an apology for slavery 300+ years ago, because a couple of morons want one or believe they were wronged by whites... it like talking about a subject you know very little about... yeah you may hit some broad points, but you aren't understanding that racism and in general human rights were knowing, illegally violated since the late 70's.

So both sides need to do the research. Most of the slaves were not taken, but traded by african kings and rulers for european goods. Most slaves were already slaves... or basically the poor workers of african countries.

Really the problem is the treatment of the slaves when they arrived in the US and the lack of rights. The Irish were not treated the same way as african, native american, latin and asian slaves... the Irish had far more rights and far less racial discrimination.

I personally don't feel like I need a apology... really I feel like my generation and on has moved on to the next phase of human race. Integration.

Bt there are still some out there that want to hold on to old history or use excuses of old history as a way of deflecting their inability to move forward.

the black dude in that video though was referring to all white people because he said "white society." If you find his full video, he says "an entire race of people....." I'm white. So that would mean me too... but my parents, grandparents, and so on weren't even born in America. They were born in Serbia [former yugoslavia] and never owned slaves. My dad never even saw a black guy until he moved to chicago. So I or my ancestors are somehow responsible for what happened in this country a long time ago? obviously not.. So saying shit like that is just fuckin stupid.

But even white people that did have ancestors here during slavery aren't at fault. They obviously weren't around so why should they apologize? yeah, we should feel bad that it happened.. everyone should. Things like that are just wrong.

Like you said, black people were sold by their own people to whites.. some black people do know that... but they still choose only to blame the whites for what had happened.
