Do you think there will be a trade?
Some Possibilties

Ron Artest for Quentin Richardson and chris duhon?

trade Ron Artest for Chris Duhon and Quinton Richardson. The magics have Dwight Howard best interior defender and Ron artest Arguably the best perimeter defender..Orlando Magics are rank probably number 2 or 3 in offense in the nba so to add the two best defenders would be a plus….Quinton richardson and duhon can both shoot the 3 ball….and play Very good defense…keep in my the Lakers are in the luxury tax they need huge role players that are good playmakers duhon probably wont do this but Richardson can..thats my idea and i think its the best move for both teams.

The two rookies
Ron Artest has never really been a “perfect fit” kinda guy, so trade talks aren’t that suprising, they have followed him his whole career. But none the less he is a crucial part of the lakers (last year game 7 vs Boston) and without Matt Barness in the lineup his importance is ever more relevant. If Kupchak does decide to make a deal i don’t see ron artest getting moved, perhaps instead a deal could be made to ship Derrick Character or Devin Ebanks for some more depth at the wing spots and defence to handle Boston’s much deeper bench.

Artest:Less than 10 points an 3 boards a game … Artest collects 8 pts and less than 3 boards in almost 27 minutes while Matt Barnes had almost 8 points an 5 boards in 20 minutes before getting injured …

If LA wants to trade Ron either

1. They trade for picks......I mean they are gonna need young talent soon
2. Expiring contract......Who doesnt want to play in LA
3. Package him and a couple others for an overall better SF(Jackson, Wallace, etc)

The problem is that no one is gonna want a 31 year old who is playing the worst of his career... and still has like 22m on his contract. I would really want Tayshaun Prince, or Gerald Wallace tho...

Lakers don't have any intriguing young players or expiring contracts. They don't have tradeable assets they're stuck with this team

The Warriors were rumored to be trying to trade Steph Curry; he'd be perfect for LA.

Steph Curry, Andris Biedrins, Dorrel Wright, and Dan Gadzuric

for

Andrew Bynum, Steve Blake, Ron Artest, 1st round pick

Lakers get the pg of the future, a great shooter, and would be perfect for the triangle.
They also get Dorrel Wright, a knock down shooter who can split time @ SF with Barnes. And Biedrins, who would give the Lakers back their length down low in the paint. Gadzuric is just a filler.

Curry/Fisher
Kobe/Shannon Brown
Wright/Barnes
Gasol/Odom
Biedrins/Odom

I don't know if the Lakers really have any trade assets aside from Shannon Brown and Steve Blake. Unless they're willing to ship Artest, Gasol, or Odom, they pretty much have to deal with what they have.

Once Kobe begins to clearly decline and it can't be camouflaged anymore, the Lakers MUST blow up their team completely and start a massive rebuild. With the new CBA, that rebuild could be starting as early as next year because there's no way in hell Kobe and Pow Wow are making over 20 million each and with Kobe eating 60% of the hard cap.

I'd only do that if Nene somehow got in the deal...
