plus the dunk is never as good unless the crowd is in to it, props make them loud.

I mean I think little things like the superman cape or nets...those are fine imo

but then you get down to jumping over a car with a choir or have a little asian kid with a mowhawk whine that his stuffed animal is stuck on the rim.

The problem is the format.

Yeah it was prop heavy this year, but really I think they need to have three dunkers move on instead of just two. Then the top two dunkers move on to the finale.

Really DeRozen only had one good dunk. His first one was cool, but I wouldn't of given him a that high of a score on it.

You can do a 720 triple windmill dunk from the three point line...

But if you don't have a prop, you're gonna lose.

I kinda agree.

The dunk contest is supposed to be about dunking. I watch to see some cool dunks... not to see an average dunk... with a guy grabbing a stuffed toy with his mouth.

most of the greatest dunks ever in the dunk contest had no props involved.

Props add a little more spark or w/e... but it doesn't make the dunk any better.

like... take the car and choir outta Blakes dunk and just pay attention to the dunk. It wasn't really anything special. Same with Ibaka grabbing that toy with his mouth. Not a great DUNK.

Blakes first dunk was SOOO much better than the car one. And Ibakas free throw line dunk was a lot better than the toy one.

if you're a great dunker, you shouldn't need to use props to put on a good show.

Sounds like he is very angry about being robbed twice in a row.

all the dunks have been done. Props are the only way to keep it interesting. And tell derozen to work on playing within the offense and shooting that J...hell his team so bad and he's doin interviews?

I mean, I was rooting for derozan, but the props were always on my mind

I mean, if it's a very small prop, or rather one that doesn't affect how the dunk is, such as the superman cape with DH12, then I think it's fine. But bringing out pointless props that without them, the dunk wouldn't be good, I don't get. Also, Ibaka with the free throw line dunk. It was nice that he brought out "NBA africa" banners, that showed his past and background, but didn't affect the dunk. that was very good imo. But afterwards, bringing an asian kid with a mowhawk...no.

Like nenad said, take away the car and the choir and BGs dunk was arguably an in game dunk.

Also, judges and fans favour props for the most part, which is why the NBA won't make a rule about them. When you break it down, the Ibaka dunk with the stuffed animal was sorta similar to Dwight Howards "kiss the rim" dunk. But if both dunks were done, Ibaka would get the better score. Not the best analogy, but you know.

And WHEN THE FUCK IS TDOT GONNA HOST THE ALL STAR WEEKEND?

Toronto will get it soon. The NBA likes going around with it. Chicago hasn't had it since 88 I think.
