That's what Kevin Johnson's saying.

The Kings are in the 10th smallest market in the NBA, and would now move to the 2nd largest in the league.

If the Kings move to LA in the Honda Center and become the LA Kings (basketball version) or the Anaheim Monarchs or Anaheim Royals, it's their right. However, given that LA already has two teams, and the city really only roots for one of those teams, why not move to Seattle and just become the Seattle Supersonics? I know the old sonics moved because of an arena deal or lack of was the motivation to axe everything, but the Key is still a better arena than what they have right now.

Seattle would quickly rally around the team, and then they would love. I mean LOVE to rock the house when OKC comes to town. Seattle has a metro area that has over 6 million people which would be a Top 10 market in the NBA based on population alone. It's also a rich area, so they could be even better than that.

I wish they would move to another city

really another LA team? That's 3 freaking teams in the LA area. They already have the Lakers and Blake Griffin in the same city who's going to care about an Anahiem team?

I don't know how a third LA team will do when the area has two teams right now, and the team only supports one of those teams. The Clippers at least have a sexy rookie player so perhaps they will start supporting them in masses too.

New York City has three NHL teams, and only two of those teams have good attendance, those three being the Rangers in Manhattan and the Devils in Newark, NJ. The Islanders are the Clippers of the league despite a hard cap and revenue sharing but they have a horrible arena lease and an out of date arena which doesn't make things any better for them.

The LA area has almost 18 million folks, and they could handle a third team, because most NBA teams serve a metro area of less than six million people.

The Maloofs are banking on this with the LA area:

1. There are plenty of people who want Lakers season tix but don't wanna wait forever to get off the waiting list.
2. Plenty of people in Anaheim would buy the tix for the LA Kings for a closer drive to see NBA action rather than drive 30 miles to LA proper to see the Clippers or Lakers play another team.
3. With the Lakers getting a new TV deal, there will still be a regional TV provider that will play LA Kings games easily.

By LA Kings I mean the Sacramento Kings assuming they move to LA. There is an LA Kings team that plays in the Staples Center, for the NHL.
