After 22 years, Coach Williams retires after a storied career that included 7 Sweet 16's, 2 Final Fours, and the 2002 National Championship. He will be best known for being a former Terps player that came back to his school in the wake of NCAA violations and the Len Bias death, and rose it back to new heights. He also ran a clean program, which is very admirable. The next head coach search is underway. Arizona's Sean Miller, Minny's Tubby Smith, and Villanova's Jay Wright have been rumored to be candidates, but apparently the school has a mystery front runner.
