PostSubject: Why the lakers did not 3peat.   Mon May 09, 2011 11:49 pm

So im going to try to write an article.I love basketball, why not try writing.Im not to good at this yet,so excuse all that.So lakers blew it,and being a Die Hard Lakers fan, what better time to start than now.

The series Overview.
As you all know the lakers got swept by the Dallas Mavs on Sunday.Game 1:They let the Mavs comeback as Kobe missed the game winner,Right after Pau Gasol fouled Nowitski and sent them to the line.Game 2:After three quarters it was close, but lakers just blew it in the fourth.Game 3:Lakers blow yet another team, failing to close out again. Game 4:They just gave up.I can't count the number of records the mavs set in that game.Than Odom a hard foul.Bynum with that disgusting foul..That was emmbarasing.

Pau Gasol.
Don't get me wrong now without Pau Gasol we wouldnt of gotten far as we did. When the Playoffs started he dissapeared. In the first round he put up 13 points and only 7 rebounds. He did horrible. We got thru the round and now I thought he was going to pull it back together. In the next series he put up only 12 points and 9 rebound. He couldn't gaurd Nowitski,He did whatever he wanted.Nowitski Murdered him.I don't know anything about Gasol getting dumped by his fiansee and kobe being the reason but you can't just dissapear like that.

Underestimating there oppenents.
They always think they will just kill the oppenents. They lost to the cavs and alot of teams that they could of beat and we could of had the number one seed.It was just pathetic at times to see this team open games, sometimes they didn't even play defense because they gave no credit to there opponent.

Steve Blake
In the reg. season he averages 4 points 2 assists. He was suppose to come off the bench and play more minuts for fisher so he could rest up for the playoffs. He was brought in to average about 7 points and 4 assists. In the playoffs however he averaged 2 points and 2 rebounds. He was a huge dissapointment.

The bench
The bench consisted of Lamar odom,Matt Barnes,Steve Blake,Shannon brown. These were the players with playing time. This not a good bench.Bynum was injured and odom started alot of games.Matt Barnes was Injured also so for a time the only options were Brown and Blake

This team just had too much confident in them. They thought they would win it all.Pau gasol did magic and dissapeared.Steve blake didnt turn out how he was expected.Kobe at times took too many shots..Many people are going to get upset but sometimes passing was a better option. The bench is horrible.Hopefully they learn there lesson about why regular season matter.

Why there needs to be changes.
Fisher is going to turn 37,He can not gaurd the younger gaurds.Bynum says we have trust issues.Odom also says they have trust issues.Gasol just dissapeared. There seems to be so beef between Gasol and Bryant. We need to shake it up and get some neww and YOUNGER players.

Good points... esp. about Steve Blake, that dude just fucking sucks. We overpaid him for this shit... we shoulda used our whole MLE to get Raymond Felton. And don't forget about Phil Jackson, he should take some blame too. I mean, he was making some really stupid coaching decisions...

To sum it up the most important player to the Lakers did not play well

I get that Kobe is the best player and leader of the Lakers, but Gasol is the most important player on the team. When he plays well, the whole team plays well and the triangle works wonders
